It's okay to admit it, we hear it all the time. Equipment users are intimidated to "mix their gasoline".
They don't want to add the wrong mixture and rightly so; trying to operate something with poorly mixed fuel can be futile at best, or worse – it can lead to expensive repairs.

A spring complaint we hear often is: "I've purchased a new piece of eqiupment last year, and this spring when I tried to start it, it's not working!"
Stale gas and improper storage are a few of the most common issues we see with a piece of gas powered equipment that won't fire up but let's talk about fuel.

Well, fuel now-a-days has a higher ethanol content then ever before and according to reports, ethanol can contribute to corrosion and carbon deposits in an engine, and can also dissolve plastic in addition to causing other maintenance problems. Evidence is growing that ethanol-rich fuels can seriously impact equipment performance if not cause major damage.

We're seeing more and more of this damage and that's why we recommend to always try and use premium gasoline in all your gas-powered equipment. Yes, it's more expensive, but it will spare the life of your equipment.

STIHL researchers have caught onto this dilemma in the power equipment industry and they also recommend that fuel should have the highest octane rating possible with a minimum rating of 89. The fuel should contain no more than 10 percent ethanol. Any product containing more than 10 percent ethanol stands the chance of voiding product warranties.
