Maria Cornelia Kooy

Maria Cornelia Kooy

“Safe in the arms of Jesus”, peacefully at Humber River Regional Hospital, Toronto on Thursday, February 22, 2007. Maria (nee Bron) of Toronto at 69 years of age. Beloved wife of Leendert Kooy. Dear mother of Bill and Marg Kooy and their children Will, late Lisa, Sandra (Kevin), Brandon (Kim); Rik and Monique Kooy and their children Daniel and Matthew; Johanna Kooy and Julio Alburquerque; Harry and Sharon Kooy and their children Bradley, Katelyn, Stacey and Jason; Jackie and Paul Dykxhoorn and their children Joel (Rachel), Joshua (Erika) and Jesse; Francy and Karl VanderVeen and their children Maria, James, Justin, Rachel and Sarah; Len and Carrie Kooy and their children Felicia, Andrew, Thomas, Darren and Evan; Albert and Mary-Ann Kooy and their children Peter, Timothy, Rebecca, Daniel, Michael and Caroline; Benjamin and Joann Kooy and their children Alex and Jordan. Loving sister of Annie and Jaap deRoo, late Dicky and Gerrit Jonker and late Albert and Mieneke Bron.

After 69 years God decided to take Maria home for a rest. She passed away peacefully on February 22, 2007. For 22 years she worked alongside her children cleaning equipment, floors, bathrooms, offices, windows, dishes, you name it she did it! A hard worker, she never asked for anything in return. She absolutely loved coming to Kooy Brothers every Friday to spend time with her children and shoot the breeze with customers, who all knew her as "mom". Every week Kooy Brothers staff would look forward to her home-made rice krispie squares. A treat we'll all miss. Whether it be cooking a vast amount of fried onions without ever complaining, cutting thousands of buns, pickles and tomatos, or bringing great dutch treats, she never missed an Open House. A busy mother to 9 children, she always put her family first. Maria (Oma/Mom) touched so many people's lives, and we will all cherish the wonderful memories she leaves behind. At Kooy Brothers she will leave a huge hole, and will sadly missed.

Lisa Marie Kooy

Lisa Marie Kooy

LISA MARIE KOOY, Beloved daughter of Bill and Marg Kooy. Loving sister of Will, Sandra, and Brandon. Cherished grand-daughter of Leendert and Maria Kooy, and Lies (late Jacob) DeVries. Lisa will be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lisa will be sadly missed by her companion Greg Muise. Passed away tragically in a car accident on Sunday, March 27, 2005 at 22 years of age. We believe and have faith in our heavenly Father that Lisa has gone to be with Christ and is rejoicing at His side. We have hope, for Jesus said, “There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:1B, 4 Lisa truly is safe in the arms of Jesus.

Lisa Marie Kooy was a large part of Kooy Brothers Lawn Equipment. Being the Marketing Manager for the company and the owner Bill Kooy's eldest daughter, Lisa worked tremendously hard to get Kooy Brothers very first website looking beautiful. She did meticulous work on all of Kooy Brothers advertisements and radio ads as well as Kooy's yearly open houses. Lisa befriended many of our customers because she also acted as Kooy's full-time receptionist. Lisa was a diligent worker, and never settled for anything less then perfection. She will be truly missed by her family members Bill, Sandra, Will and Brandon, who all work at Kooy Brothers, as well as the rest of the Kooy family and employees who worked along side her for many years.
